Ona Utuama is the founder and creative director of Tribal ëyës, an e-commerce eyewear line
Ona Utuama is the founder and creative director of Tribal ëyës, an e-commerce eyewear line. She launched the brand in September 2020 to introduce ethnic patterns, and diversify the structure and designs in eyewear fashion.
The label prides itself in infusing ethnic designs into acetate, a novel concept in the eyewear industry, with each displaying a plumage of colors, for which she has a patent pending on 2 of her ethnic designs.
Following Tribal ëyës appearance at London and Paris Fashion Week 2021, the brand is stocked at Anthropologie Dubai Mall UAE, Hudson Bay Canada, and Wolf & Badger.
Ona graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Benin, Nigeria, Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health, and Morehouse School of Medicine both in Atlanta, Georgia.
A 40 under 40 award winner of Emory University, Ona derives pleasure in networking and meeting the brand's eyewear tribe at pop-up events. Off work, she loves playing tennis, scrabble, ping pong, and biking with her 15year old, 10-year-old, and 5-year-old sons respectively. She hopes to volunteer more and travel the world.
