Taryn Delanie Smith is a passionate communications and media creative with a strong educational background in media studies and international relations. As a bilingual 25-year-old, she has scholastic expertise and hands-on experience with digital communities, inter-cultural relations, and diplomacy. Taryn is an honors graduate who holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree from St. John’s University. She is a freelance content creator and consultant for numerous national and international brands. Not only is she a mentor, Taryn is an educator and community dialogue facilitator through her partnership with the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development.

Taryn created S.O.S. Supporting Our Shelters in 2016, a social initiative to encourage communities to support homeless shelters. As someone who experienced poverty, Taryn focuses on educating, donating, and volunteering to create awareness, promote supply donations, and encourage community members to volunteer their time. Social media marketing enables her to engage with New Yorkers’ incredible sense of compassion. By leveraging digital campaigns, she has spearheaded successful clothing, toiletry, and book drives. Not only has Taryn collaborated with numerous shelters to combine her skills and their missions to maximize funding, but also raised over $3,000 for local shelters in the first quarter of 2022. Taryn says, “My true gift lies in the personal connections I make with children and families in shelters. These relationships continue to inspire me every single day to be a voice for those who so often go unheard.”
